The Grove Hill Arts Council was formed in 2005 with the vision of bringing the arts to the community of Clarke County, Alabama. The Cultural Arts Center opened in 2008 as a local organization sponsored by the Grove Hill Arts Council. The Arts Center functions as a professional gallery, exhibiting the work of local artists. The Art Center also uses the adjacent building, Studio 122, as a full-time classroom and community event space. Classes are conducted by local artists in a variety of different mediums including oil painting, stained glass, pottery, and printmaking.
The mission of the Grove Hill Arts Council is to promote the creation and appreciation of the arts by all the citizens of Clarke County, to promote and support the presentation and sale of art by regional artists, and to enable all citizens of the region to participate in art affairs as creators and enthusiasts.
